Spring has Sprung

Tornadoes, lightning, floods, rip currents and early season heat… Spring is three months of danger that can imperil the unprepared. It roars in like a lion, rampaging across the United States throughout March, April and May.

Spring hazards include:

  • Severe Weather/Tornadoes
  • Floods
  • Lightning
  • Tsunamis
  • Rip Currents/Beach Hazards
  • Heat

“Knowing your risk of severe weather, taking action and being an example are just a few steps you can take to be better prepared to save your life and assist in saving the lives of others” states Chief Russell Sander. “Being weather ready is a collective effort. It takes the whole community to effectively prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate against damages caused by tornadoes, severe thunderstorms and other severe weather” Sander added.


What you need to listen for…

Watch- conditions are favorable for the event to occur in your area. Prepare for further action that might be needed

Warning- The weather event is happening in your area NOW or will within minutes! Take action immediately.
